Last night we celebrated our 1st birthday since launching the Norfolk Property Network. It’s hard to believe it was just a year ago we held our first FREE event. 12 months on and we’ve gone from strength to to strength and last night really demonstrated this.

Over a year ago I found the other property networking events quite dull and repetitive.

So I created the NPN event where by people from all walks of the property spectrum could come along to a relaxed environment which is somewhere between a motivation Tony Robinson seminar and a monthly local landlords association meeting.

We don’t charge for the event and we don’t allow the hard up sell from our guest speakers.

Last night we were graced by David Clouter who’s experience and passion for property investment was infectious.

As a local property community I thought it right we do our best to give as much back as possible. Last Xmas we raise just over £1300 in a charity auction for the East Anglian Children’s Hospice (EACH) inspired by one of my top builders personal story and how they helped his family through a very difficult time.

We met with EACH this week, who are really stepping up to help children and families now and for the long term future. To do this they need bigger and more modern facilities.

The Nock was born. The goal to build a purpose built children’s hospice.

So as a local property community we decided to support them in their goal which is to raise £10million by 2018. Our goal locally is to raise £25,000 toward this by 2018.

At our birthday event last night we raffled off some property books donated to us and raised just over £100, so a long way to go.

We also used the event to launch our worst kept secret.

Norfolk’s First ever Charity Monopoly tournament.

If your anything like me as a kid (and adult) I just love to play monopoly but it holds some key teachings which drives us a property investors (no not buy everything you land on).

So on Dec 14th at 10am 36 would be monopoly tycoons will sit down across 6 tables and play for seat at the final table.

Tickets start from £45 each which includes light refreshments or we are offering a sponsorship ticket (which includes a seat) for £100.

That evening we will be holding our 2nd black tie Xmas 3 course dinner which includes wine for the table and bubbly on arrival. There will be music and entertainment for the evening (maybe not the fire breathes as we had last year) all for just £40 a head.

We will also be looking to at least double the amount we raised the year before In our charity auction with some more exciting items for you all to dig deep and bid on (go big or go home).

Little old Norfolk isn’t the easiest place to get to, but if you can make the events we would welcome your support in raising funds for such an excellent cause.

But if you can’t, I’m living proof of how easy it is to create your own networking event in you local area (If I can do it anyone can). If you need any help or support on how to get started feel free to contact me. Once it’s up and running you then have a wonderful group of like minded people to really help in giving something back.

Thanks again
