Hopefully for most landlords, the process of renting out your properties will be a smooth one. Invariably though, you're likely to encounter a time when you need your property back; perhaps the tenant isn't paying their rent, or they're just refusing to leave.
Even for the most experienced landlord, it can be a daunting process. It can be time consuming and there are costs involved. It's therefore paramount that landlords understand the process and do things correctly first time in order to get their properties back as soon as they can, with minimal financial loss.
This course is delivered by a successful landlord who for 11yrs has successfully self-managed her own portfolio and now runs her own letting agency. She was formally a tenant's rights adviser, so has first-hand experience of the possession process and attending court. Also an experienced trainer and author of several published articles for the Citizens Advice Bureau, she has plenty of anecdotal scenarios to bring to the course.
This course will take you through the process of obtaining possession; from which notice to serve to how you apply through court. It will cover possession through the Section 21 (S21) and accelerated procedure and how this contrasts to possession using a Section 8 (S8) and the standard procedure. With example forms and useful links, landlords and agents will be more confident in what can be a worrying time.
