The workshop takes you through the process of incorporating your personally held property portfolio into a limited company without capital gains tax or stamp duty, while retaining your existing mortgages intact.

Landlord incorporation has got a lot more straightforward since HMRC removed ambiguity as to what constitutes a Landlord business for the purpose of obtaining Section 162 relief.

I have just had an email from a company from less tax for landlords. In the email it states that s162 is no longer accepted by HMRC is this true ? or scaremongering to sell there product. I incorporated 2 years ago and am very happy.

The opposite is in fact true. During the summer of last year, HMRC updated their tax manuals to specifically say under what circumstances landlords are eligible for s162 relief.

I would be interested in incorporating our property business. However I think I have a problem [if I understand Mark A. correctly] due to our loans now exceeding our base cost although there is a fair amount of equity in the portfolio
