Quantum Law / Tax Planning – SDLT Scheme from 2010

Has anyone on Property 118 had any dealings with Quantum Law or Quantum Tax Planning Ltd, regarding their Stamp Duty land Tax Scheme from around 2009 / 2010? Quantum Law Tax Planning - SDLT Scheme from 2010

If so, have you had any correspondence fro HMRC concerning a Discovery Assessment asking for all the SDLT saved to be paid over?

I used the Quantum scheme which did include insurance in case the scheme was challenged, however that insurance was only for a set period and the HMRC assessment has come much later on and I guess we are no longer insured.

The original Quantum company seems to have disappeared but Quantum Law LLP seem to have taken some form of responsibility and are recommending that we and all the other people who are affected by having used their scheme, should join a group action in the First Tier Tribunal.

So, is there anyone else involved in this action and what do you make of it, please?

Many thanks

Max Wright

I'm currently working on a documentary series that is featuring people who have had difficulties with Stamp Duty- can I send you some more information on this? My email is ruthnewton@tigeraspect.co.uk or you can call me on 0208 222 4891. Please get in touch if you'd like to hear more.

Thanks,

Ruth

MAX, I'm in a very similar position. There now seems to be a group association set up, charging a 3rd of the SDLT amount. Perhaps you'd like to discuss how you see it?

Hi Max

Sorry I've had to remove your contact details but this is in breach of our "House Rules" - see >>> http://www.property118.com/house-rules-business-sponsorship/

However, I have sent an email to Ian Smith with a screenshot of your post (contact details included) before it was moderated.

The purpose of our House Rules is to prevent spammers and soliciting for business without sponsoring the website. I trust you will understand.

Hi Max

I too used the Quantum Law SDLT planning in 2009. The HMRC looked into it 2013 and I took part in the group legislation. Worryingly I have just been emailed by RPC the lawyers dealing with the tribunal instructing me there wasn't great enough take up to fight the HMRC.

I would love to know your thoughts and share knowledge on the subject.

Be great to hear from you

Regards

Alex

Hi Alex

I had exactly the same thing, I think RPC were a very rude and arrogant organisation and I was not keen to part with my money to them, especially as they refused to ask my very simple questions.

I have been in touch with another person who is also in the same boat.

Would you be interested in maybe the three of us looking to see what we could do together?

Kind regards

Max

Max

I would certainly like to see what our options are now. Seeing as we are in the same boat it would make sense to do this together.

My email address it alex_alcock@hotmail.com. lets start communication offline.

Regards

Alex
