Many of the best read articles on Property118 are landlord stories, what’s great, what’s hot and what’s not. This is probably because we all know deep down that it’s far better to learn from other peoples experiences and far cheaper than learning from our own mistakes. I’ve realised that sharing my strategies and my positive and negative experiences, and then engaging in online discussion with other landlords, makes me think deeper. Sometimes my fellow landlords ask me a question I’ve never considered. Occasionally this leads to me changing something I already do for the better. With this in mind I would like to share the stage with you and offer you an opportunity to do exactly the same. Why not give it a try? Share your landlord stories, help other people and see what comes back to you.
If you have landlord stories to share, which you think may be of interest to our readers, please complete the form below, we will be delighted to hear from you. Our readers particularly enjoy landlord/tenant related anecdotes, they may not have been funny at the time but we all have a story to tell and we can all learn by sharing them. We will publish the best stories in our Newsletter and you may even be invited to become one of our regular Guest Columnists.
It’s very easy for us all to get sucked into the negative press about being a landlord, the crazy rules and regulations, tenants from hell etc. I’ve been a landlord now for 23 years so I know all about them and can share many stories. The bottom line though is that I’m still a landlord and I have no intention whatsoever to change that. I plan to continue to learn and I’m very proud of my decision to become a landlord. Doing so has given me financial freedom but you already know that and you also know that I’ve used that financial freedom to create Property118.
I’ve shared several of my stories so now it’s your turn. By all means share a horror story if you want to but please share what you learned from it too and what you now do differently. What we’re all really interested though is how your decision to become a landlord has positively affected your life.
